No Clothes For You!

Yep, you read that right! The boys asked me what I was going to do today and I told them work and laundry. "Again?!" they cried out. Yep. Again. I told them that perhaps I should just make a rule that we are not allowed to wear any more clothes. Then, I won't have laundry to do. Nate instantly did the pump fist and said, "YES!" He was quite excited about his future naked life until Lex informed him that he would have to go to school like that. Nate thought for a minute and said, "Well, I can just wear a towel around me when I got to school." Gotta love the thought process on these two. :)

These kids are awesome.

There really is no other words. We've had a rough week as a close family friend took his own life. The kids are handling it extremely well. The boys, instantly, told us that he was in Heaven. The night after, Nate asked to say the blessing and he said, "Dear God, We thank you for everything. And, Lord, we just ask you for help. Please, help everybody who needs it. That's all. Amen" What five year old says a prayer like this? When Scott's son, Conrad, was born, the boys prayed their little hearts out for him everynight. They asked God to help Conrad and his parents. I am in awe of them and need to step back and take a lesson from kids. I need to have a child-like faith. You know, as I sit here and think back, on September 29th, the day before our friend took his life, Nate also asked to say the dinner blessing. He started with his normal appleseed one and changed it to, "Dear God, Thank you for everything. All of our food. The beautiful day. Well, everything! And Jesus, I just want to thank you for dying on the cross for us. Amen." Wow, this kid has the connection so many of us want and crave for. He has told me countless times that God talks to him, that he talks to us all, we just need to be quiet and listen. But, he talks to us in our heads and hearts. I hope he maintains this awesome connection and we all take the time to listen.

We're back!

Well, it only took me a few months to try to remember my personal password for google and not my work one *palm to forehead*. Our life is still crazy as ever. I really need to look up some of my past Facebook posts and write some of the crazy antics my kids have pulled. Now, kids, as you are reading this (the plan is to print this out as a book and give it to the kids later)remember, it wasn't all fun. We defintely have our shares of yelling, ranting, temper tantrums and the like. But, I'm choosing not to remember those. We end each day not mad at each other and saying we love each other. No matter what happens in our lives, I want you remember how much you are loved. You are my everything to us.
