Yep, you read that correctly. Lex and I are home during the day, so we're helping Nate pee in the potty and not his pants. Once in a while, Lex and Nate will have a "pee party" where they pee in the toilet together. (This must be a boy thing?!?)
Anyways, before we left yesterday, we were encouraging Nate to "push the pee out." I'm happy to say he did! So, as we were getting ready to leave Lex informed me that he's pretty sure Nate has little men in his penis. I was taken by surprise and said, "What?!" He said, "Little men. I think Nate has little men in his penis that help push the pee out so he can go." I just sort of looked at smiled. What does one say to that?? Such an imagination!
Well, at least I try to think of it as controlled. Some days it's just plain chaos. Welcome to my world. I was on the unstoppable path of an education professional and then kids popped into the picture. Now, I am a work at home mom. My world is a bit more than upside down from what it used to be. Join me in my everyday controlled chaos.

Quicksand
Last week while I was working, I put on the movie The Never-Ending Story for the boys. They were entranced! Apparently, the part of the movie involving quicksand really stuck with them. Later that day, while playing in the backyard, the following scene took place:
Both boys were under the apple tree where plenty of apples are still on the ground. They were pretending that the apples were quicksand and would scrunch low to the ground while sinking and calling for help from the other one. The other one would quickly come to the rescue and pull the sinking child out of the quicksand. After the two of them were going back and forth for quite a while doing this, Nate went out and was "sinking." Lex walked on the outside of the apples and said, "You are just going to sink now. You are on your own mister." Oh my! I guess brotherly love only goes so far, huh? LOL

No more diapers!
Well, Nate is all the way trained yet, but I have him continuously saying this phrase! But, I decided on Sunday morning that I was done with pull ups. I put Nate in underwear and he has no problem playing in wet underwear. I put him in pull ups and he wants changed as soon as he pees. Well, pull ups are pricey! So, we're on day two of underwear. It's a bit frustrating, especially when I see him peeing on the floor right through his underwear. But, it's a learning curve for both of us. So, we've got the reward m&ms and we just keep changing underwear. He'll get it soon enough :)
Wow, time flies.
It's been almost a month since I've written here. I cannot believe how fast time has been flying right past us. We've been busy as little bees here. The kids all picked out their own Halloween costumes a few weekends ago. Bailey has chosen to be the Grim Reeper. Lex went straight for the firemen's uniform but then changed at the last minute to a black ninja. Nate, who is obsessed with his cowboy boots, is going as a cowboy. I am so incredibly excited this year for Halloween! The kids will get lots of opportunities to wear them this year and the first is this weekend. We are meeting Bailey's Brownie troop at the zoo for Zoo Boo. The kids don't know about this yet. Fun, fun, fun!
