Well, at least I try to think of it as controlled. Some days it's just plain chaos. Welcome to my world. I was on the unstoppable path of an education professional and then kids popped into the picture. Now, I am a work at home mom. My world is a bit more than upside down from what it used to be. Join me in my everyday controlled chaos.

These kids are awesome.
There really is no other words. We've had a rough week as a close family friend took his own life. The kids are handling it extremely well. The boys, instantly, told us that he was in Heaven. The night after, Nate asked to say the blessing and he said, "Dear God, We thank you for everything. And, Lord, we just ask you for help. Please, help everybody who needs it. That's all. Amen" What five year old says a prayer like this? When Scott's son, Conrad, was born, the boys prayed their little hearts out for him everynight. They asked God to help Conrad and his parents. I am in awe of them and need to step back and take a lesson from kids. I need to have a child-like faith. You know, as I sit here and think back, on September 29th, the day before our friend took his life, Nate also asked to say the dinner blessing. He started with his normal appleseed one and changed it to, "Dear God, Thank you for everything. All of our food. The beautiful day. Well, everything! And Jesus, I just want to thank you for dying on the cross for us. Amen." Wow, this kid has the connection so many of us want and crave for. He has told me countless times that God talks to him, that he talks to us all, we just need to be quiet and listen. But, he talks to us in our heads and hearts. I hope he maintains this awesome connection and we all take the time to listen.
